Puget Sound
Goals

Broaden and deepen citizen support for individual, corporate and societal practices that will sustain a healthy ecosystem in Puget Sound.

Preserve, restore and improve protection of the Sound's nearshore and estuarine habitat.

Create a coherent and well-managed system of marine protected areas.

Eliminate and reduce sources of pollution, especially toxic pollution.

In order to reach these goals, we seek to:

Build effective coalitions among public and private entities.

Improve the public's understanding of issues and involve more people in taking action to protect the Sound.

Create effective incentives, policies, programs and practices.

Support legal action when necessary.

Support sound research and monitoring, especially when it effectively involves citizens and is used to inform them.

Improve education about Puget Sound, kindergarten through post-graduate college and university programs (K-20).
