TRFF’s 2011 and 2012
Grant Cycle Information:
In
2011 & 2012 the foundation has three
online
Letter of Inquiry (LOI) deadlines:
- Monday, October 10, 2011 (deadline has passed)
- Monday, February 6, 2012 (deadline has passed)
- Monday, July 23, 2012 (by 11:59 PM)
Once submitted, LOIs are reviewed by the foundation for
potential advancement to the Full Proposal stage. If an LOI is advanced,
organizations have approximately 4 weeks to fill out and submit a Full Proposal.
LOIs that are advanced to Full Proposal stage will be considered for funding at
one of two possibilities during the year:

that are advanced will be considered in either:
Mid February 2012 or Early May 2012

February 6, 2012 LOIs
that are advanced will be considered in either:
Early May 2012 or Early November 2012

July 23, 2012 LOIs
that are advanced will be considered in either:
Early November 2012 or Mid February 2013
The foundation’s Environmental Team and Grants Manager will
work closely with your organization to ensure you are informed about key
information relating to your LOI submission, including: full proposal due date,
site visit possibility and funding consideration timeline. If you have any

How To Apply - Please review steps 1 through 5 of our process:
Step 1: Make sure your organization fits within our general grant guidelines below:
Geography: Organizations must be located in and/or provide services within the Puget Sound region. The region includes 12 counties: Clallam, Jefferson, Kitsap, Mason, Thurston, Pierce, King, Snohomish, Skagit, Whatcom, Island, and San Juan.
Nonprofit intent: Requests are accepted from 501(c)(3) organizations. Nonprofit entities such as public schools and school districts also may apply.

Step 2: Review our Environmental Sustainability Program Guidelines closely to make sure your request is a good match.
Step 3:
Submit a Letter of Inquiry online.

Please Note: We have recently converted to an online application process and are no longer accepting Letters of Inquiry via Postal Mail, Fax or Email.
Step 4: TRFF will confirm receipt of your online application within two weeks. TRFF will then review your application. If we are interested in considering the request, we will ask you for a more detailed proposal.
Full proposals are accepted by invitation only.
Step 5: TRFF will review all invited full proposals and approve or decline the requests.
