The George F. Russell, Jr. Fund supports nonprofits working globally to
address critical issues that threaten peace, security and the quality of life
in the world. George Russell takes a particular interest in the affairs of
Eastern Europe, Russia and Asia Pacific. In the past, grants from this fund
have supported a range of projects including: democracy and competitiveness in
Russia; neutralizing toxic nuclear waste; and public policy in the countries
of Asia Pacific. The foundation does not accept unsolicited proposals for this
fund.

East West Institute, New York, NY
The EastWest Institute (EWI) is an independent international institution
working to address the most dangerous fault lines of the 21st Century and to
help build fair, prosperous and peaceful civil societies in those areas.
Since 1980, EWI has operated long-term projects that create trust and
understanding and seek to reduce tensions from Eurasia to the trans-Atlantic
region using its unique network ofprivate and public sector leaders in more
than 40 nations.
National Bureau for Asian Research, Seattle, WA
The National Bureau of Asian Research (NBR) is a nonpartisan research
institution dedicated to informing and strengthening policy in the
Asia-Pacific . NBR conducts advanced independent research on strategic,
political, economic, globalization, health, and energy issues affecting U.S.
relations with Asia. Drawing upon an extensive networkof the world's leading
specialists and leveraging the latest technology, NBR bridges the academic,
business, and policy arenas.
Business Humanitarian Forum, Geneva, Switzerland
Launched in January 1999, the Business-Humanitarian Forum (BHF) strives to
increase dialogue and mutual support between the business and humanitarian
communities. The BHF encourages the recognition that business has a strong,
long-term interestin supporting the work of the humanitarian community,
which is a key element in the stabilization of developing and post-conflict
societies. The BHF is currently developing specific projects involving the
private sector and humanitarian organizations in Afghanistan and
otherpost-conflict and/or developing areas.
